making history together
From Battlefield to Innovation
The Genesis of a Legacy
Military Equipment was founded by (Retd.) Vinod Kumar, a 9 PARA Special Forces Commando. Armed with nothing but courage, discipline, and battlefield experience, he began with a clear mission:
“To create world-class military gear and apparel with the highest quality at the most honest pricing.”
Humble Beginnings to Rapid Growth
What began with just 2 Indian sewing machines in a rented 2-shop workspace soon transformed into a fast-growing manufacturing unit. Year after year, the brand expanded:
Grew from 2 machines to 100+ heavy-duty imported industrial machines
Constant upgrades in materials, craftsmanship, and technology
Expanded supply footprint to Army units, organisations, institutes, and pan-India customers
These years established Military Equipment as a rising name in durable tactical gear.
Expansion, Empowerment & Social Impact
The brand grew stronger, but the founder’s heart remained with society.
2013 – The Turning Point After the Kedarnath Disaster
When the Kedarnath tragedy devastated thousands of families, founder personally brought 20 families from the region, providing:
- Free accommodation
- Food
- Training
- Monthly stipend
- Skill development to make them self-reliant
This humanitarian act evolved into a full-scale training program for rural youth and women.
Skill Development Mission
From 2013 onward, Military Equipment trained over 2,000+ rural women and youth on advanced industrial sewing machines—giving many of them financial independence for the first time.
National Honour (2013)
Recognizing his contributions, the DG Resettlement Division featured him on the national DD National program “Saare Jahan Se Achha Fauji Hamara”—a moment of immense pride.
Strengthening Manufacturing & Expanding the Mission
These years marked powerful progress:
Continued training of rural women, widows, youth, and families of disaster-hit regions
Massive expansion in production capacity
Introduction of tactical bags, cold-weather gear, fleece products, ponchos, combat accessories
Supplies extended to multiple Indian Army formations and units across India
Integration of military-grade fabrics, IR-compliant materials, advanced insulation technology
During COVID-19, the founder personally distributed:
10,000+ masks
Essential food supplies through CM House & local administration
Contributed ₹5.5 lakhs to the Chief Minister Relief Fund with support from ex-servicemen and community networks
The brand became known not only for quality gear but also for its service to the nation.
Modernisation, Machinery & Manufacturing Excellence
These years marked the transformation into a fully equipped, modern production house:
Added state-of-the-art machinery, heavy-duty sewing systems, precision cutting equipment
Enhanced workforce—now 80+ employees, primarily rural women
Expanded product lines, logistics, warehousing, and quality systems
Strengthened supply to Army units, corporate buyers, and outdoor users
Focus on Make in India and Vocal for Local principles
2023 – Retail Expansion Begins
Opened the first dedicated Military Equipment Retail Store at
HQ 135 Infantry Brigade, Roorkee, marking a major step towards direct service to soldiers and units.
The founder’s journey—from selling his ancestral house to start the business—to becoming a major military gear supplier became a symbol of grit and resilience.
The Digital Transformation Era
Military Equipment enters a new chapter:
Development of an advanced multi-platform digital app (Android, iOS, Web)
Real-time inventory & stock management
Streamlined order management & CRM
Military-inspired UI/UX for soldier-friendly navigation
Expansion into eCommerce, corporate procurement, and digital catalog systems
