In 2005, there was no factory. No big team. No funding.
Just a soldier (Retd.) Vinod Kumar, 9 PARA Special Forces and a decision that changed everything.

He sold his ancestral home, and with that money, set up a small workspace with just two sewing machines. There was no guarantee of success. Only belief. And discipline of a soldier who refused to quit He wasn’t trying to build just another business. He wanted to create gear he could trust in the field himself— strong, reliable, and honestly priced.

The early years were tough. Long hours. Limited resources. Constant pressure. But slowly, things began to change:

• 2 machines became many
• Small orders turned into steady demand
• Army units started recognizing the quality

Every product carried the same intent— “If a soldier uses this, it should never fail him.”

That belief built the foundation.

Then came the Kedarnath disaster. Thousands of lives were shattered. For many, everything was gone overnight. At that moment, the founder didn’t think like a businessman. He acted like a soldier. He brought 20 affected families to Dehradun.

Helped them with:

• A place to stay
• Food to survive
• Monthly support
• And most importantly—skills to rebuild their lives

What started as help, became a mission.

From that point on, Military Equipment ® was no longer just a manufacturing unit. It became a place of second chances.

Over the years:

• 2,000+ rural women and youth were trained
• Many earned their first income ever
• Families that once struggled began standing on their own

Machines didn’t just produce gear anymore— they produced dignity and independence. That effort was later recognized nationally,when the founder was featured on DD National’s “Saare Jahan Se Achha – Fauji Hamara”.

As the company grew, so did its responsibility. Production expanded. New products were introduced— tactical bags, winter gear, ponchos, combat essentials.

The brand began supplying to multiple Army units across India. At the same time, technology improved:

• Better fabrics
• IR-compliant materials
• Advanced insulation

Then came COVID-19. Once again, it wasn’t about business.

• 10,000+ masks were distributed
• Food reached those who needed it
• ₹5.5 lakhs contributed to the relief fund with help of ex-servicemen community

Because some values don’t change— service comes first.

By now, the small setup had transformed completely.

• Modern machinery replaced old systems
• A team of 80+ people, mostly rural women, powered production
• Systems became stronger—quality, logistics, warehousing

And then, something new happened. The brand stepped closer to its core users.

2023 – Inaugurated a Brand Retail Store at HQ 135 Infantry Brigade, Roorkee. Not online. Not distant.
Right where soldiers are.

The next step wasn’t just growth— it was evolution. Military Equipment ® moved into digital:

• A full-scale app (Android, iOS, Web)
• Real-time inventory and order systems
• CRM and structured operations
• A UI designed with a military mindset—simple, fast, functional

At the same time, product innovation continued:

• Better fabrics
• IR protection
• High-performance materials

2025 – Expanding Presence

Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya

The journey did not go unnoticed.

2025 – State Honour
Recognized by the Governor and Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for contributions to society, employment, and the armed forces.

2025 – National Recognition
Honoured by the Defence Minister of India,
in the presence of the country’s top military leadership.

But for the founder— the real achievement was never awards. It was seeing people stand on their own feet.

Today From selling a house, to building a company that supplies Indian Army units and enthusiasts across the country— this is not just a business story.
